Residents accused of robbing construction sites in Moorpark

Two Simi Valley residents were recently arrested on four counts of burglary.

Almilkar Ramos Medina (aka Alejandro Ramirez), 23, and Adrian Estrada, 28, were booked into the Ventura County Jail on four counts of burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy. Their bail is set at $50,000. The Moorpark Police Department responded to an alarm at a construction site at Ridgemark and Shadow Wood drives in Moorpark at about 5 a.m. July 26.

The first deputies to arrive could hear noise coming from the area of the equipment and supply containers. The deputies then saw the taillights of a pickup truck as it backed up. The truck drove away without its lights on.

Deputies stopped the vehicle as it left through the rear entrance to the housing construction area. In the bed of the truck deputies found numerous rolls of electrical wire from Sunrise Electrical, valued at about $7,000.

The investigation that followed led to the search of a residence in Simi Valley where Moorpark detectives recovered additional property stolen from the same construction site earlier in the month. Detectives were able to solve five additional burglaries as a result of this arrest.
