PONY squad begins World Series tonight

SURVIVE AND ADVANCE- The 13A All-Star team from Simi Youth Baseball has advanced to the PONY World Series at Chino Hills Community Park. After winning invitational and regional tournaments during the past month, Simi Valley defeated Upland twice Wednesday night in Fullerton to capture the Zone championship. Simi posted a 6-1 record at Zone. They scored 58 runs during the tournament and allowed only 27 runs. The team begins World Series plays tonight at 5:30 p.m. against Chambersburg, Pa. Simi team members include Tyler Bosson, Cody Ramer, Cole Acheronti, Brandon Greiger, Nick Vigo, Jeremy Sworyzn, Sean Houlihan, Johnny Wilson, Blake Yuckert, Cole Rutherford, Collin Yellich and Reece Schmidt. Chris Bosson is the manager. Dustin Bosson, Roy Rutherford and Randy Acheronti are the coaches.
