Learn about hosting an exchange student
Is the decision right for your family?

The Simi Valley Family YMCA will host an information night on how to host a foreign exchange student from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 at the Y, 3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley.

A representative from the Aspect Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 that offers studyabroad opportunities to students, will provide information at the meeting.

For every host family that signs up through the Simi Valley YMCA, Aspect Foundation will make a $50 donation to the Y.

"Hosting a student gives us the opportunity to learn about other cultures and for students to learn about our culture here," said Flo Trapani, Y membership director.

Families may select a student based on their country of origin, interests, hobbies, sex and age.

For more information or to reserve a seat at the information night, call Cheryl Landazuri at (805) 527-7445 or e-mail landazuri98@hotmail.com.
