UCC is rewarding the wrongdoer

The United Church of Christ has taken a stand which, when boiled down to its essence, says nothing more than "reward the wrongdoer."

UCC's announced intention to harbor illegal aliens on its property is not only contrary to federal law but also to the opinion of some 80 percent of the American people.

The United States is a country of laws. Its populace is not free to obey those laws with which it agrees and ignore the ones with which it doesn't. To ignore laws brought into existence by lawful means is the genesis of anarchy.

The church makes the ridiculous statement that the deportation of Liliana would separate her from her children who are citizens of the United States.

There is no law whatsoever that prohibits "Liliana" from taking her children with her!

Rev. Goudey's assertion that she is "not worried" about the possible tax consequences of her church's position is a perfect illustration of the placing of one's head in the sand. William J. Tewksbury Simi Valley
