Superior Court judges retire from bench
Hintz served 25 years after being appointed by Gov. Edmund G. Brown, Jr. He graduated from UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law in 1971. He joined the Ventura County district attorney's office in 1975. After his appointment to the Municipal Court in 1982, Hintz was named Judge of the Year in 1985 and 1988. He joined the Superior Court in 1998. Hintz taught classes at the McGeorge College of Law, California Lutheran University, Saddleback College, Moorpark College, Ventura College, the Ventura County Sheriff's Academy and the Center for Judicial Education and Research. He also was a faculty member of the Ventura College of Law from 1985 to 2002. Hintz is married and has two children. Klopfer graduated from Sacramento State College and Stanford University School of Law. He was hired to work in the Ventura County district attorney's office in 1971. He was appointed to the Municipal Court in 1987 by Gov. George Deukmejian. Klopfer was named Judge of the Year in 1993. Klopfer helped design and implement Ventura County's drug court program, which he conducted during its inaugural year in 1995. He's taught at Moorpark College and the Ventura County Police and Sheriff's Academy, and has served as a guest lecturer at the Ventura College of Law. Klopfer lives in Ventura with his wife, Sara. They have three grown children. |
