Spice is nice at Oxnard's 14th annual Salsa Festival

The 14th annual Oxnard Salsa Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29 at Plaza Park, Fifth and B streets in downtown Oxnard.

Festival admission and parking are free; no coolers or pets are permitted. A $4 admission fee to the salsa tasting tent includes tortilla chips and a variety of salsas to sample.

Latin and salsa music will be performed on the main stage by Louie Cruz Beltran Latin Jazz Ensemble, Orquesta Tabaco y Ron, Leslie Paula and the Latin Soul Band, Somos Son, Orquesta Charangoa and Opa Opa.

Food and craft vendors, children's crafts and activities, chef demonstrations, dance contests and shows are among the other entertainment planned for the festival.
