Motorcyclist killed in accident

Russell Woodrow Coplin, 54, of Simi Valley died in a traffic accident on Mayfair Street at the intersection of Winthrop Court in Simi Valley at 7:33 a.m. July 13.

Coplin was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Mayfair Street. Angeline Harris of Simi Valley, driving a Ford SUV, was making a left-hand turn from eastbound Mayfair to northbound Winthrop when Coplin's motorcycle struck the SUV.

Coplin suffered major traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at Simi Valley Hospital. An investigation is underway.
