Host of Fourth of July performance thanks community

As this year's host of the 37th annual Simi Valley Fourth of July concert and fireworks spectacular (as well as last year's host), I could not be more proud.

I am a resident of Simi Valley and have been for over 35 years. It warms my heart to see the rousing support of the citizens, the hard work of the Rotary Club and the support of our police and fire departments.

To think that kind of entertainment came to the good people of Simi for free blows me away. I've seen Simi Valley grow tremendously over the past three decades, but Wednesday I was reminded why I love her so much. I saw a picture-perfect example of a small American town that loves its freedom and loves its country.

I know I speak for hundreds, if not thousands, of residents when I say, "Thank you, Simi Valley, for providing me and my family a wonderful place to call home." Scott Keller Simi Valley
