Sports Performance Institute to sponsor youth football camp

The Sports Performance Institute is partnering with coach Terry Gourley for a three-week football camp for youth ages 7 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, July 9 through July 27 at Grace Brethren High School, 1350 Cherry Ave., Simi Valley.

The fee is $175 per week and includes daily lunch, professional instruction, camp T-shirt and water throughout the training session.

Camp Gourley will concentrate on three areas: fundamental basics of football, to refresh the experienced and bring the inexperienced up to speed; advanced, specific instruction with a greater emphasis on speed training; and skills, campers will have their specific position taught in greater detail, in addition to core fundamentals, speed and strength training.

"Our goal is to put on a fun football camp filled with the fundamentals of football to ensure all of the campers leave here better players, both physically and mentally," said Gourley.
