Road closures planned for Tapo, Stearns

Stearns and Tapo streets will be closed for several days this month.

Stearns Street northbound will be closed Monday through Friday, July 9 to 13.

Tapo Street northbound will be closed Monday through Friday, July 16 through 20.

The closures will occur at the highway.

On northbound Stearns Street access to the eastbound onramp will remain open.

Traffic during the closures will be detoured according to a traffic control/detour plan.

Changeable message signs will be installed before the start of construction to advise motorists of the closure.

The closure is necessary for improvements to the bridges in conjunction with the 118 Freeway widening project, which will add an additional lane from Tapo Street to Kuehner Drive.
