Carotid, peripheral artery screenings offered

The city of Simi Valley Senior Center will offer free carotid artery and peripheral artery blockage screenings to seniors age 60 and older three Fridays during the summer by appointment only. Appointments begin at 9 a.m., and the screening dates are Fridays, July 13, 20 and Aug. 24.

The screenings are noninvasive; participants will receive a printout of their test results.

Dr. Armardeep Mann, medical director of critical care services at Simi Valley Hospital and a cardiologist, will give an overview of the screenings from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11 at the senior center.

He will answer questions at that time.
