County fire department welcomes 24 new faces

The Ventura County Fire Department has announced the graduation of its 45th Fire Academy on Friday, June 15.

The 24 graduates will be assigned to fire stations in the Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura City Fire Department and CarpinteriaSummerland Fire Protection District.

The graduation ceremony marks the completion of 16 weeks of training in which the trainees learn all of the fundamental firefighting skills. Once assigned to a fire station, they will continue another eight months of probationary training and evaluation as firefighter trainees.
