Radio lovers catch some waves at Reagan Library

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS- Ham radio operator Mike Tweedy of Simi Valley communicates with other operators from around the country as he participates in Amateur Radio Relay League's Field Day at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library last Saturday. Amateur radio, often called "ham radio," has consistently been the most reliable means of communication when other systems fail. One can purchase a basic radio for about $150; a license will cost $14. For further information, visit www.cvarc.org. BILL SPARKES Acorn Newspapers
