Response showed community's pride in its officers

Isn't it great that there was only one letter condemning the police for Garcia's dying from the Taser used to stop his criminal and evasive acts? And then to see Sgt. John Parks of the Simi Valley Police Department's letter showing he had to be on the defensive for the police action was sad, but was very strongly counteracted by the five Simi Valley residents' letters following his, speaking highly of the police actions.

I'm not sure, even with all the excellent training the police get, that I would be able to resist the adrenaline hype and anger at what those fleeing criminals are doing endangering the public when the fleeing lawbreaker is finally pulled over.

I commend the police all over this country and very specifically our Simi Valley police who do their job so well while keeping their cool in all the threatening situations they are confronted with.

And I can even say this when I did get my speeding ticket, because I think I can count on the hairs of my head the many times I have speeded and have not been caught. Judy Dwyer Simi Valley
