Democrats looking to talk trash

The Democratic Club will host a forum to discuss the expansion of the Simi Valley Landfill at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 in the Simi Valley Library community room, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.

Speakers include Jim Dantona, former candidate for county supervisor and longtime community activist, and Councilmember Barbra Williamson, who recently formed a task force to monitor the impact of the planned expansion.

Topics to be covered will include the size and scope of the expansion, possible adverse impact, if the expansion will serve only local needs and questions of whether the expansion is necessary.
