      How ironic that Simi Valley, home of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, now hosts the nostalgic icon, "Hair," which opened for a short run offBroadway in 1967, moved to a Greenwich Village nightclub and then debuted on Broadway in 1968.

Musicians invited to apply for awards program
      A music awards program has been created for the local independent artists who live and/or perform in Ventura County. The Music Awards for Ventura Roots and Independent Creations will be accepting submissions of nominations until July 9 for all genres of music.

Season of variety planned at the High Street Arts Center

Oktoberfest seeking local talent
      Local talent will get the opportunity to perform on stage at Oktoberfest, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30 at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. The annual event is presented by the Rotary Club of Newbury Park and Farmers Insurance Group.
