Big Springs sprinters run away with title

TAKING THE GOLD- The fifth- and sixth-grade girls' team from Big Springs Elementary School, pictured in the center, won the 6x67-meter relay event at the Junior Olympics, held on the campus of Royal High. More than 1,200 students from 21 elementary schools in and around Simi Valley competed in the event. Big Springs' runners were Vanessa Miltner, Heidi Holmquist, Melissa Toczynski, Toni Chavez, Nicole La Fontaine and Anchor Annie Toczynski.
