Death of man hit by Simi Valley police Taser leaves resident asking questions

I am very disturbed upon hearing of the death of Mr. Raymundo Garcia, the man who was Tasered by police last week.

He was pursued in a "slowspeed chase" and resisted arrest. Subsequent stories in local papers categorize him as having a history of drug use.

Does this condemn him to a death sentence?

He resisted arrest. Are we of a mindset that demands instantaneous obedience to authority? Could the police have waited a bit and talked him down?

What about the second man that was mowed down by police a few hours later?

Are we in Simi Valley or Abu Ghraib? Barbara Geach Simi Valley
