LDS church serving lunch to veterans on Memorial Day
Those attending the VFW program may stop by to share a meal

Single adult members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and the Simi Valley community are hosting a free Memorial Day "Salute to Arms" luncheon and program for all Simi Valley veterans.

The event is planned for noon to 3 p.m. Monday, May 28 at the Sinaloa Building of the LDS Church, 480 Sinaloa Road, Simi Valley. Local restaurants and businesses are donating food and door prizes.

Entertainment will be provided by veterans and church members.

"Pen Pals for Soldiers" Barry Thomas will be present to provide opportunities to send messages to the troops serving overseas.
