Exhibit offers rare view into Reagan's personal diaries

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library has opened a new exhibit of the president's personal diaries, displaying the first and last diaries of a five-volume set Reagan wrote in longhand during his eight years in the White House.

The exhibit includes a desk similar to the one Reagan used in his study in the private residence of the White House, with many of the original items on the desk, including family photographs, a sterling silver notepad holder, a desktop phone directory and a leather and acrylic caddy.

The exhibit also includes enlarged photos of Reagan working at his desk.

The library is at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley and is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Admission prices range from $3 to $12.
