Simi couple works out at Boot Camp Two Simi Valley residents will be man and wife in less than four weeks. Brooke Moss and Eric Liberman are the perfect couple in every category they could be sized up in. They began a different sort of journey together about six weeks ago: Boot Camp. Both are very competitive and brought it to camp, challenging each other every step of the way. "If I see Brooke doing more sit-ups than me, I have to beat her," Liberman said. "We started here to get a good work out and, of course, to look our best at our wedding." Moss and Liberman are one of five different wedding parties enrolled at 805BootCamp. "We just got married ourselves, and we understand wanting to look your absolute best," said Sarita Shoemaker, coowner of the boot camp. "It's all about the shoulders and back for the women and the gut for the men." "We don't have kids yet and want to stay fit and healthy starting now. It is just an important detail to being together forever," Moss said. "I thought I was already in pretty good shape but when I got tested at camp it woke me up." Most people in boot camp are there because they need the accountability and regiment that it provides. There are so many reasons to get into better shape. The range of motion and flexibility of the bones and muscles gets forgotten and one pays for it later. Every morning people can be seen walking and running around Simi Valley, taking care of their health. According to the National Institute on Aging, lack of exercise and poor diet together are the second largest underlying cause of death in the United States. Smoking is the No. 1 cause.
