Hospital to recognize emergency service workers with picnic lunch

Simi Valley Hospital will host an afternoon picnic lunch to celebrate Ventura County Emergency Medicine Services workers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at its facilities in Simi.

Local police, firefighters and the hospital's physicians, nurses and emergency medicine technicians are invited to participate in the celebration.

A barbeque chicken luncheon has been planned.

EMS professionals will be served by the hospital's emergency department staff to express appreciation for their work saving lives and keeping the community safe.

"EMS workers provide lifesaving care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year," said Gary Irish, president and CEO.

"The hospital is proud to recognize the everyday heroics of our own staff as well as those EMS workers which we partner with."

The luncheon is sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital and Janzen, Johnston & Rockwell Emergency Medical Group.
