Free emergency preparedness seminar offered

A free emergency preparedness seminar that shows senior citizens how to organize a disaster preparedness plan will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 24 at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

The "senior safety first" project will allow incomequalified seniors to apply for a free emergency kit that contains a flashlight, emergency food and water and other essential supplies.

The seminar is sponsored by the Community Action Partnership of Ventura County and Volunteer Organizations Assisting in Disaster, in partnership with the city of Simi Valley.

Enrollment is limited and reservations will be taken on a firstcome, first-served basis.
