Exchange students looking for host families in Simi International exchange high school students are coming to study in the Simi Valley area during the 2007-08 school year. These students will integrate themselves into a Simi Valley-area family with the goal of experiencing American culture as would an American high school student. In turn they will provide insight into their own culture. STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, will help facilitate these relationships as they have done for 20 years. The foundation is seeking new host families in the Simi Valley area to connect them with exchange students. Students this year include Katharina, 16, from Germany, who plays on a soccer team and takes classes at a dance school. She also enjoys playing the guitar and singing in a choir. Nicolas, 15, from Switzerland, participates in tennis competitions and practices the drums. He loves learning languages and enjoys snowboarding. They are both excellent students and will have their own spending money and health insurance. The host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a safe environment. Families interested in hosting are encouraged to call Sean at (800) 522-4678 or Emily at (323) 256-1920, or e-mail seant@stsfoundation.org, or visit www.stsfoundation.org. |
