King trial still colors opinions of Simi Valley

I read with interest last week's Acorn Question of the Week: "Do you think the Rodney King trial still influences opinions about Simi Valley?"

Believe you me the answer is a resounding "Yes!"

I meet many people that live in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I tell them I am from Simi and they still recoil, and bring up the case.

I think if you ask people of color, you will get a much different response.

I would not trade living in Simi, but "it" is still out there. Don Calhoun Simi Valley
