Local officer makes MADD glad
Leads department in arrests of drunk drivers

Mothers Against Drunk Driving recently recognized Police Officer Howard Horwitz of the Simi Valley Police Department for his outstanding achievements in working to prevent deaths and injuries that are caused by impaired driving.

Horwitz is an expert in apprehending drivers who are operating vehicles while intoxicated.

He led the department in arrests of intoxicated drivers last year.

The officer also participated in the development and presentation of a Driving Under the Influence training class which was presented to his fellow officers to improve their skills in the recognition, intervention, and documentation of DUI driver arrests.
