Santa Susana musicians win at festival

Vocal and instrumental groups from Santa Susana High School traveled to Oahu during spring break to compete in the 2007 Hawaiian Heritage Festival.

Bevin S. Abbe is the director of three groups which won silver awards: Mixed Concert Choir, Show Choir and Abbe Road Jazz.

Other winners were String Orchestra, gold; Wind Ensemble, silver and Percussion Ensemble, silver. These musicians were directed by Brent Carlson.

The school also received the Adjudicators Award, Outstanding Orchestra Group trophy and the Sweepstakes Award in Instrumental Music.

The awards are on display in the main office of the school.
