Inaugural Gridiron Golf Classic will benefit Pioneer football team

The inaugural Simi Valley High School Gridiron Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, May 7 at Lost Canyons Golf Club, 3301 Los Canyons Drive, Simi Valley.

The event begins with registration at 8 a.m., a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and the dinner, silent auction, raffle and awards at 4:30 p.m.

Steve Hartman, CBS Sports Central anchor and host of XTRA Sports 570-AM's "Loose Cannon," will be the master of ceremonies for the raffle and silent auction. The event is hosted by the Simi Valley Gridiron Club, a nonprofit organization that supports Simi Valley High School's football program, to raise funds for new locker room facilities, new weight equipment and a new state-of-the-art scoreboard for Bob Jacob Memorial Stadium at Simi Valley High.

The tournament fee of $175, or $700 per foursome, includes golf, cart, range balls, barbecue lunch and post-event buffet dinner.

Visitors can attend the postevent dinner only for $30.

Sponsorship packages are available from $100 to $1,500.
