Young girls escape frightening experience Police are on the lookout for a man who attempted to abduct two girls as they were walking northbound in the 2200 block of Shasta Way in Simi Valley at about 7 p.m., April 24. According to police reports, a 10yearold girl and her 12yearold friend were walking past a newer model silver pickup truck which was stopped near the exit of one of the business driveways. One of the girls heard the driver say, "Come here, I have something for you." The girls kept walking. The truck pulled out of the driveway and into the street following the girls. The same girl heard the driver say, "Come here so I can rape you." She told her friend what she heard the driver say and the two ran to Sonrise Church at the end of the cul-de-sac. They saw the truck turn around and drive away southbound on Shasta Way. The girls were not injured. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, about 25 to 30 years old, thin build, with a mustache and long wavy brown hair in a ponytail. According to the police report, it's possible little girls' clothing was draped over the back of the truck's seat. Anyone who can assist in the identification of the man is asked to call the Simi Valley Police Department at (805) 583-6950. |
