Boy, 8, dies from fall at home

An 8-year-old Simi Valley boy was killed last Friday when he fell off the second story of his parents' home onto a concrete floor.

According to Ventura County senior deputy medical examiner Armando Chavez, Lucas Scott suffered blunt-force trauma to the head and was pronounced dead at Simi Valley Hospital about 8:30 p.m., nine hours after the frantic 911 call first came in to Simi Valley police.

"The parents were doing some construction on the house, and he was in the construction area and fell about 20 feet," Chavez said.

Sgt. David Livingstone of the SVPD said police determined that the fatal accident that occured in the 500 block of Siskin Place, was just that- an accident.

"Our officers spoke with a couple witnesses and confirmed it happened accidently," Livingstone said.
