Busy Saturday scheduled at Simi YMCA
Signups and Healthy Kids days combined

The Simi Valley Family YMCA is combining its annual summer camp/swim lessons signup day and its Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the YMCA facility located at 3200 Cochran St.

Healthy Kids Day activities are free with a summer program registration and $5 without sign-up.

Representatives from the Los Angeles Kings will run street hockey games in a portable arena and also give away free Kings hockey items.

Lowe's will conduct a "Kid's Clinic," and talent agency John Robert Powers will conduct screen tests for young actors.

Other activities include a rockclimbing wall, bounce houses, games, sports and health screenings. A blood mobile will accept donations.

A variety of summer day camps for all ages will run from June 18 through August 24. All camps will include group games, swimming, sports and arts and crafts.

Field trips will include the beach, Chuck E. Cheese, a Dodgers game, the Ventura County Fair, Magic Mountain, Lazer Star and Hurricane Harbor.

Weeklong specialty camps focus on a theme, such as skateboard camp, "pretty princess" camp, thrill seekers camp, animal action camp and a "messy mish mash" camp for children ages 3 to 5. Weeklong resident camps at Wrightwood's Camp Elk and a Gone Fishin' camp to Mammoth Lakes are available.
