Simi will host townhall meeting on issues related to the county's downtrodden
Input of residents requested by local nonprofit

Community Action of Ventura County has scheduled a town hall meeting in Simi Valley to address poverty issues in the community and Ventura County.

The public is invited to offer input at the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the Plaza del Sol Community Room, 4231 Alamo St., Simi Valley.

"We invite all opinionmakers and decisionmakers to attend," said Socorro Lopez Hanson, executive director of Community Action. "We hold these meetings every two years, listen to the information provided, analyze it and then compile a report that will guide us for the next two years. We want to make sure that the needs in Ventura County get the attention they deserve so that we can make it a better place to for all of our neighbors."

Community Action Ventura County, formerly called the Commission on Human Concerns, is a local nonprofit group that helps lowincome, disadvantaged and at-risk families and individuals to become selfsufficient through a variety of programs and services.
