Local firm a great place to work, according to Fortune

For the eighth year, the financial-services firm Edward Jones was named one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in America" by Fortune magazine in its annual listing, according to the two Edward Jones financial advisers in Simi Valley.

The firm ranked No. 29 overall and No. 9 in the Best Large-sized Company list.

The magazine also listed the company as one where associates feel "encouraged to balance their work and personal life."

The ranking is employeedriven, with two-thirds of the scoring based on how randomly selected employees respond to an anonymous survey designed to measure the quality of workplace culture. The remainder of the score is based on an in-depth analysis of the company's benefits and practices.
