Painter inspired by the sea hosting demo April 20

People who enjoy visual arts are invited to watch artist/teacher John Sidman create one of his fantasy paintings in acrylics when the Simi Valley Art Association meets from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 20 at the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.

Sidman's demo will follow a brief business meeting.

Sidman's art is inspired by aquariums, tropical fish and the sea. At the demo he'll explain how he has developed his own visual vocabulary of organic elements.

The artist obtained his degree from UC Santa Cruz and his works are in private collections and galleries. He is a member of the Ventura Art Association.

A $5 donation is requested from nonmembers attending.
