Simi man suspected of trying to rob former T.O. employer

A Simi Valley man allegedly walked into the offices of U.S. Beef, a grocery delivery service based in Thousand Oaks, at 12:29 p.m. Monday, displayed a firearm and demanded cash.

According to a report from the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department, the robbery was foiled when one of the employees began to scream and a small dog also distracted the intruder, who fled.

An employee identified the wouldbe robber as Marcus Wilson, 24, a former employee.

Deputies located Wilson later at a grocery store at the corner of Alamo Street and Tapo Canyon Road, where he was arrested.

Wilson was booked at East Valley Station on suspicion of attempted robbery and on an outstanding warrant before being transferred to Ventura County Main Jail. His bail was set at $110,000.

Wilson is set to appear in court April 13.
