Free Clinic therapist passes state exam; clinic adds new therapist

The Free Clinic of Simi Valley recently announced that volunteer Leonore Schuetz has passed the exam to become a licensed marriage and family therapist in California.The nonprofit clinic has also added another volunteer to its Family Counseling Program, Marjorie Fagan.

Schuetz volunteered at the Free Clinic for the past three years to complete required training and supervision needed to qualify for the marriage and family therapist exam with the state Board of Behavioral Science. Schuetz plans to open a practice specializing in therapy for children. Fagan comes from the Phillips Graduate Institute and needs 3,000 hours of volunteer counseling under the supervision of a licensed therapist to qualify to take the state exam.
