City filling positions on general plan committee

The city of Simi Valley is now accepting applications to fill five public "at-large" positions on the General Plan Advisory Committee. Service with the committee is expected to last about 18 months.

The Simi Valley General Plan is the planning and policy document that guides the long-range development of the community. The city will update the current General Plan adopted in 1988 to address community needs in 2030.

Committee members will advise the planning commission and City Council and also work closely with city staff and professional consultants to help guide the development of the new draft General Plan document.

Applicants must be residents of Simi Valley or own property or a business within the city. The deadline for submitting applications is 5:30 p.m. Mon., April 30.
