Support for wildlife passage across 118

I greatly admire the efforts of the organizations and individuals that are working toward the construction of barriers aimed at deterring our local wildlife from the deadly asphalt and offering them safer routes to get across.

As a community college student I have traveled the freeway back and forth for the last two years, and the stretch of 118 in between the communities of Simi and Moorpark has continually proven itself to be a depressing hotbed for carnage on the roadway.

I've seen animal fatalities ranging from coyotes to barn owls and most recently a large, beautiful bobcat.

I hope the determination of these nature activists results in greater awareness of their cause and a dramatic overall decrease in the number of auto-animal collisions. David Percival Simi Valley
