Mayor Miller to deliver 'State of the City' speech today at Grand Vista

The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce will host the 2007 State of the City luncheon at 11:30 a.m. today at the Grand Vista Hotel.

Mayor Paul Miller will use a stateoftheart multimedia presentation and provide information on city departments, projects and events.

"The city is in good shape, but we do have some concerns to deal with, and I will discuss those," Miller said in an interview before his address, noting such issues as the homeless, Runkle Canyon, runoff from Rocketdyne and escalating oil prices.

Copies of the mayor's speech and multimedia presentation will be available to the public after tomorrow's luncheon, Miller said.

"This luncheon provides members of the business community with information and an overview of top priorities for 2007," said Leigh Nixon, president/CEO Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce. "The Chamber works with the city to help build a strong local economy while enhancing the quality of life in Simi Valley."
