Simi man helps establish funeral home in Camarillo

Robert Perez of Moorpark and Eric Rose of Simi Valley have established a family owned-and-operated funeral home in Camarillo, Rose-Perez Funeral Home and Cremation, which will serve the community with a full range of services.

"My goal is to assist the families and serve as a resource for them in their time of need when making funeral arrangements," Perez said. "I want to ensure that families have options when it comes to making funeral arrangements. It is my hope that the personal approach I take to working with families and conducting funeral arrangements will make the grieving process more comfortable for them and help (them) make the right decisions."

Rose has more than 15 years of experience in the funeral industry.

He owns Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley. Perez has been in the industry for the past six years.

Rose and Perez established the Camarillo business as an alternative to the corporate-owned funeral homes that dominate the Ventura County area.

"There are only approximately six remaining family owned and operated funeral homes in Ventura County. The rest are corporate owned," Perez said. According to Perez, corporate-owned funeral homes are higher priced and less personal.

To help provide the "personal touch," Perez offers to come out to his clients' homes to make arrangements. "I feel that families are more comfortable in their own environment," Perez said.

Preplanned and atneed arrangements can also be made at Rose-Perez Funeral Home and Cremation's arrangement center at 266 Mobil Ave., Ste. 110, in Camarillo.
