Some panels are still seeking more volunteers

Applications are being accepted for 11 volunteer positions on several Ventura County 4th District committees and boards.

Applicants must be residents of the 4th District, which includes Simi Valley, Moorpark, Somis, Las Posas Valley, Santa Susana Knolls, Box Canyon, Chatsworth Peak, Home Acres, Sinaloa Lake and Tierra Rejada Valley.

+Two positions are open on the Air Pollution Control District Advisory Committee. The committee provides a forum for discussing APCD rule development activities and other air pollution concerns. Members serve four-year terms.

+Three positions are open on the Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board. The board advises staff and service providers on the needs and services provided through Ventura County alcohol and drug programs. Members serve three-year terms.

+Two positions are open on the Commission for Women, Ventura County. The commission provides information to the board of supervisors on issues of interest and concern to women of the county. Members serve four-year terms.

+One position is open on the EMS Advisory Committee.

+Two positions are open on the Mental Health Board, which serves as a liaison between the board of supervisors and the Behavioral Health Department to oversee and advocate for the mental health system. Members serve three-year terms.

+One position is open on the Tobacco SettlementAllocationEvaluation Oversight Advisory Committee. This committee advises the board of supervisors by annually presenting a Tobacco Settlement Allocation Plan on sources and users of tobacco settlement proceeds. Members serve two-year terms.
