Farmers' Market opens today at Simi mall
Outdoor event scheduled every Friday, 3 to 7:30 p.m.

The Simi Valley Farmers' Market and Family Festival will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday beginning today, March 16, in the parking lot near Dakota's Great Steakhouse at the Simi Valley Town Center, 1555 Simi Town Center Way.

Produced by FMOCIH Corp. of Ventura, the market will feature fresh produce, food, children's activities, live music, entertainment and arts and crafts.

Seating will be available for customers. FMOCIH Corp. can be reached at (805) 643-6458.

Last year's event at the mall was the first farmers' market in Simi Valley since 1999. Two separate markets were staged on a vacant lot at Tapo and Eileen streets from 1998 to 1999.

"Our market is bigger than the old one on Tapo Street," said Mark Rochin of FMOCIH.

"We have children's activities like a pony ride, petting zoo, inflatable slides and obstacle courses."
