City historian offering bus trip into Simi Valley's past
Journey to yesteryear set for March 20

City historian Pat Havens will conduct an informative bus tour of local historical buildings from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20.

The trip will begin at the Strathearn Historical Park and Museum, 137 Strathearn Place, Simi Valley. Havens will lead a tour of the historic buildings at the park, followed by a brown bag lunch on the grounds.

Participants will then ride a bus to Old Town of Simi Valley. Sites will include Simi Elementary School on School Street, which has recently been designated as the city's Historical Row. The homes across the street from the school were built to attract and retain local teachers in the 1920s.
