Soldiers back in Germany from Iraq; Navy reservist training to be chaplain

+ Army Staff Sgt. Eric C. Chargois has returned to Baumholder, Germany, after being deployed to Iraq. He is regularly assigned to the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, a subordinate unit of the 1st Armored Division based in Baumholder. Chargois, a cannon crewmember, has served in the military for 10 years.

He is the son of Laura Chargois of Simi Valley.

+ Army Spec. Michael S. Zumwalt has returned to the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, Baumholder, Germany, after being deployed to Iraqi. He is a cannon crewmember with three years of military service.

Zumwalt is the son of Tom Klomparens and Debbie Zumwalt of Simi Valley, and a 2000 graduate of Royal High School.

+ SPC Rick Robledo of Simi Valley has accepted a commission as an ensign in the U.S. Navy Reserve and is scheduled for chaplain basic training this summer in Newport, Rhode Island and at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

Robledo, 29, has served for a year as a chaplain's assistant in the California State Military Reserve's 40th Infantry Division (Mechanized) Support Brigade, based at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base.

Robledo is a freelance graphic designer and is studying for a Master of Divinity degree at Talbot Seminary at Biola University.

The CSMR is an operations, support and training element of the California Military Department.
