Selection of Habitat homes' families to begin in March
Occupants chosen by nonprofit will live in three yet-to-be-built houses

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, in partnership with the city of Simi Valley, is presenting a family selection orientation for the three houses to be built on the corner of Royal and Sequoia avenues in Simi Valley.

The orientations and prescreening will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1 and 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

Interested families must attend one of the two orientations and fill out a prescreening form to be eligible to become a prospective Habitat homeowner.

Qualified applicants must live or work in Simi Valley, be currently living in substandard housing, have the ability to pay monthly mortgage payments, be willing to work in partnership with Habitat and meet income guidelines.

Applicants must bring to the orientation Social Security numbers for all family members, 2006 W-2 forms for all adult family members, and all sources of incomes. Translators will be on hand.
