Congrats to all those involved with bringing universal designs to Simi Valley

Hats off to the City Council, planning commission and the Simi Valley Council for Senior Housing ("Grassroots effort leads to change in Simi building code," Jan. 19).

These new building provisions will affect countless lives for the better.

For those of us who don't have physical limitations as extreme as our seniors or injured returning veterans, we also welcome these universally designed features which make our living spaces "visitable" and welcoming to our family and friends with physical challenges.
