Historical Society trains new docents

The Simi Valley Historical Society is offering docent training from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 6, 8, 13 and 15 at Strathearn Historical Park, 137 Strathearn Place.

All four classes must be attended for accreditation.

Docent hours are flexible. All ages are encouraged to apply, and college students may qualify for school credits.

Volunteers will be trained on the Chumash Indian, Spanish Rancho and American history of Simi Valley.
