Civic Alliance seeking sponsors for report on state of region

The Ventura County Civic Alliance announced that sponsorships are available to support its Ventura County Regional Indicators Report. The document is the organization's second state of the region report and is scheduled to be released in March.

The report will include data on 58 indicators that reflect the well-being of Ventura County and how local communities are balancing the concerns of "the three Es": the environment, the economy and social equity/social service. It will also be the first publication in the region to include new Census Bureau information on Ventura County.

The 64page report will be distributed throughout Ventura County to communitybased organizations, elected officials, Chambers of Commerce, libraries, schools, government agencies and policymakers.

"This is a unique fiveyear resource document that transcends politics and creates a broader picture of the welfare of our entire county," said Rebecca Evans, executive director of the alliance. "It is a tool for local and regional governments to identify trends, forecast needs and develop strategies for ensuring a great quality of life for generations to come."

The new report will include several multicounty comparisons to assess how the county is progressing relative to the rest of Southern California. It will include new Census Bureau data, enabling the county to examine similarities and differences among communities and help develop strategies for dealing with growth, affordable housing, open space and self-sufficiency.

The report was prepared by a research team led by Chuck Maxey, PhD, dean of the School of Business at California Lutheran University. The report will be released at a community leaders' breakfast at CLU in March; a similar event will be held in western Ventura County.

Sponsors will be recognized in the study, at the events and in all publicity surrounding the release of the study and promotion of the events. Sponsorship levels range from $15,000 to $1,000.
