Say goodbye to Heritage Oak

Simi's tallest and oldest oak tree- the Heritage Oak- will be cut down today beginning at 8 a.m.

The 60-foot oak, believed to be more than 300 years old, is located on Heritage Oak Court south of the highway off Tapo Canyon Road.

According to city landscape architect Jerry Clark, the historical landmark must be cut down because it has died and become a hazard to the public.
