Kindergarten applications now being accepted at Hollow Hills and Vista

Applications for children entering kindergarten during the 200708 school year will be accepted at the Simi Valley Unified School District's two fundamental schools from Feb. 1 through 15.

Students will be selected for enrollment by lottery from the applications received by the deadline, 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.

Application forms are available from Hollow Hills Fundamental School, 828 Gibson Ave., (805) 520-6720 and Vista Fundamental School, 2175 Wisteria St., (805) 520-6750.

Parents may participate in one lottery and submit an application for one school only.

An information meeting for applicants of both schools is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the multipurpose room at Hollow Hills School.

This meeting is for parents only and child care will not be available.

To be eligible for kindergarten during the 2007-08 year, children must be five-years-old on or before Dec. 2.

A birth certificate and verification of immunization are required at registration.

A physical exam and oral health assessment are also needed before the child starts school.

Lottery applicants will be notified by mail on Feb. 22 about their enrollment status.
